I remove asbestos for a living, so for someone to remove and then dump flytip should be put in prison and made to watch videos of people
suffering from asbestosis, like we have to when training in the safe removal of asbestos. Arent there any asbestos removal companies out there? People should be made awhere of how deadly asbestos is
and how easy it is to catch asbestosis, its a killer and to sell it is far worst then selling heroin.

That is great they are finally removing it. It is illegal to use asbestos in any building. Many construction companies still used it after the anti-asbestos laws were passed. Only recently have these laws been enforced nation-wide.

There really should be stricter measures to control the use of this material. Having this in low cost housing would only add to the burden. Since the people who live in these generally can't afford to pay for the medication once they get sick.

I can understand where the family is coming from. Maybe they feel like having an autopsy done is something their religion would not approve of. And this is probably against their set of beliefs and values.

Thank you for your comment! It is really scary that such a dangerous
material is available on the black market. It is surprising that people
would still have an interest in buying something they know is dangerous.
There must be some desperation involved. I hope that the officials who
are looking into this can do something to help the situation, so that
innocent people are not exposed to asbestos without their knowledge.

Even today, in India, millions of people live under asbestos, not aware of ill effects of asbestos. The poverty, cheap prices of asbestos drives them to have their house covered with asbestos roofs. The Government and human self-groups should come forward to educate these people about asbestos and it's side-effects. Nice informative blog, thanks.

When you look at these bankruptcies that occur as a result of mass tort litigation. I think it is evident that these companies are companies that would eventually have gone under, but the litigation I think accelerates the process and possibly saves lives.
